The Daily Telegraph reported that the Wolves have begun entering the transfer market to find a new left-back, and Nuri is expected to switch to Manchester City this summer.

It is reported that Manchester City intends to introduce Wolves left-back Nuri, and coach Guardiola wants to sign the Algerian defender, and both sides are still to be finalized for the transfer fee. Wolves had previously priced the 23-year-old about £50 million, and it is not clear whether Manchester City will meet the offer. But given the deal is expected to be concluded, both clubs should be satisfied with the progress of the negotiations. Nouri himself is eager to transfer, and the deal is expected to be finalized before the start of the Club World Cup.

Nury has performed well in four seasons in the Premier League after joining Wolves from Ligue 1 Angers Club. Wolves originally planned to provide him with a new contract, and his existing contract has two years left. Although Angers has a 50% second transfer share in the transfer terms, Wolves can pay about £9 million to buy out the clause, which they expect to perform before the transfer is completed.

If Manchester City sign Nouri, this will be their first time since Cancelo left the team in 2022. Nuri is considered to be similar to Cancelo, especially with prominent threats on the offensive end.

Previously, Croatian international Guvadior once played a guest left-back, but his future positioning will be a central defender. Guardiola also used O'Reilly at the left-back position, but this is not the latter's preferred position either.

It is worth noting that Guardiola hopes to introduce players with the Premier League’s ready-to-fighting power in the large-scale lineup adjustment this summer. Manchester City signed four players with no Premier League experience at a high price in January this year, and only Marmush can play regularly. Manchester City originally targeted Nottingham Forest Gibbs White, but they are now turning to negotiate the introduction of Lyon's Cherki (the cost is lower, the French U21 striker is worth £35 million) while pushing for the introduction of AC Milan offensive midfielder Reindes and offer about £50 million.
