McKinder: The current rules for Premier League spending are unfair. The boss wants to invest in recruitment but is not allowed
Recently, Captain Villa criticized the Premier League's spending rules in an interview, claiming that these rules hinder Villa's development and provide an unfair advantage to the BIG6 club.
This summer, club owner V Sports was unable to invest heavily in strengthening the roster. Villa must abide by UEFA's lineup cost rules this summer, which limits the club's proportion of wage expenditures to their income.
In response, McKin said: "We will feel jealous when watching the Champions League this year, but our goal is to go further in the UEFA Champions League as much as possible and try to return to the Champions League. This will not only help the club's development next season, but also for years to come."
"We have seen the impact (Champions League qualification) now. I don't know the specific details, but you don't have to be very smart to understand that if you want to compete with the giants, the rules (now) are quite unfair to me."
"Our bosses want to invest in teams and hope to push the club forward through signings, but they are not allowed to do so. It's uncomfortable. These rules are similar to many clubs."
McKinn added : "I think (at a disadvantage) will bring everyone together, including the head coach and the players. It's the same for every fan, they want a 'new toy'. When no new players arrive in the summer, you're like, 'Oh, where are they'. But then you realize that our current roster is actually pretty good."
"We just renewed a new long-term contract with Bubakar Kamara, who is one of the best midfielders in Europe. We keep some important players. Not a bleak. We are actively welcoming the new season and want to make it a special season."
"We have achieved something unprecedented since the head coach. He is just as motivated to do it again."
