Liverpool officially announced the official signing of Leverkusen midfielder Wilts. Today, Leverkusen youth training director Simon Rollfies updated the social media and released an open letter to say goodbye to Wilz affectionately.

Simon Rollfest wrote:

Dear Wilz

I would not want to write this letter, and I wish to announce to the world that you will spend your entire career at the Leverkusen Club. But you have decided to leave and start a new chapter in your life. I totally respect this. What we have lost is not only a top player in the world, but also a special person.

When I first met you, what touched me the most was not just the skills of the ball. Although the way you control the ball has amazed me, it is your winning mentality: the hunger of scoring and scoring no matter what the score is, and the obsession of constantly advancing even in the smallest details. What’s even more rare is that your family is always with you, supporting you, and keeping you humble. You have never abandoned this original intention.

Nothing can destroy you, and after your cruciate ligament is injured, your mentality will become stronger. During our conversation during those difficult times, I could feel the frustration of your inability to touch the ball, but it was even more shocked by your determination to return stronger. This attitude makes you a leader: silence, concentration, and tenacity. Even more experienced players look up at you. You have long been a superstar, but you are always the original Wiltz.

Just like the game against Bremen that determines the title, you must be the one who scored a hat trick. Even if the fans have rushed into the stadium, you are still persistent in scoring another goal. You once told me: "I never wore a hat before, so I have to do it." The reason is purely like you.

You must remember when we were in Marseille, I said you could take the No. 10 jersey. At that moment, the joy and pride shining in your eyes still shine in the subsequent photos, and this moment tells the true you.

I wish you all the best in Liverpool. You will be able to open up your own path and win countless competitions and honors. Of course, except when confronting us.

Wilz, thank you for your time under the Cross (symbol of the Leverkusen team logo), and even more for your consistent character. At the same time, I deeply appreciate your family: my parents have been here to accompany you many times to nourish this relationship with openness, humility and respect. The trust and bond accumulated over the years are so precious in the football world. You will always belong to the Bayer 04 family.

Your,

Simon
