According to the "Daily Mail" report, Menu was not selected for the England team due to his limited playing time at Manchester United, but the U21 is considering him.

Menu is currently in a difficult situation at Manchester United, which also led to his failure to be selected for the England team to participate in the games against Wales and Latvia.

The 20-year-old player has made 10 appearances for the England senior team, with his last appearance coming in September 2024. He has only played 113 minutes in the Premier League this season. He knows that if he wants to be selected for next summer's World Cup squad, he must strive for stable playing time in the next few months.

Although not selected for the England team, England U21 head coach Carsley is ready to give Menu a chance. When talking about the possibility of Menu and Adam Walton returning to the U21, he said: "Of course they are under consideration. They are players closer to the first team, but I think they can always be considered to return to the U21."

Carsley has contacted Menu and said: "They are both very valued players in the system. We will re-evaluate in each training camp. I believe both of them are working hard to enter the adult national team."

Menu and Walton are widely regarded as one of the most technically gifted young midfielders in England in recent years. But for Menu, especially the lack of playing time at Manchester United coached by Amorim, this greatly affected his chances of returning to the national team.

Game time has also become a concern for Bellingham. Since joining Dortmund this summer, his playing time has been limited. He has only played more than 30 minutes in 3 of 9 games, and most of the others came on as a substitute for about 10 minutes.

Carsley added: "We selected them because they performed well in the club, or we think they have high potential. We can't influence the club's employment, and we can't control their playing time. But what we can do is, when they are in the national team, I will take good care of them, ensure that they get the game time they deserve, and then return to the club in a better condition."
