Former goalkeeper coach Jose Manuel Ochotorena passed away at the age of 64, and Liverpool officially issued a condolence message.

Liverpool Club expresses its condolences on the death of former goalkeeper coach Jose Manuel Ojotorena. Ocho Torena died today at the age of 64.

Ocho Torena joined Liverpool with Benitez in the summer of 2004 and spent 3 years at Anfield. During this period, he helped the team win the 2005 Champions League and the 2006 FA Cup, and reached the Champions League final again in 2007.

After leaving Liverpool, Ocho Torena returned to Valencia and served as the goalkeeper coach of the Spanish national team. He played an important role in the backroom team that helped Spain win back-to-back European Cups in 2008 and 2012 and the World Cup in 2010.

In 2021, Ocho Torena left his position in the Spanish national team but continued to work in Valencia. He made over 100 appearances for Valencia, having originally moved from Real Madrid. Ojotorena was born in San Sebastian, grew up in Real Madrid's youth training system, and played for the first team from 1982 to 1988, winning 3 La Liga championships, 2 Europa League championships and 1 League Cup championship.

During his career, Ochotorena also played for Tenerife, Racing Santander and Logrono, and represented the Spanish national team once.
