According to British media Northern Echo, Newcastle rejected Liverpool's offer to Isaac, although players hope to join the Reds.

Isaac is currently training with its former club Real Sociedad in Spain. Liverpool reportedly offered Isaac more than £100 million, but was rejected by Newcastle senior officials. Liverpool is considering the next move and is expected to make a second offer.

It is reported that Isaac has informed Newcastle executives that he hopes to leave and join Liverpool this summer, while Newcastle executives hope to discuss a new contract with Isaac and its representatives and are willing to include clauses in the contract to pave the way for a transfer next summer. But Isaac is reluctant to hold formal contract negotiations because he believes his future is in Liverpool.

Isaac is said to have connections with some of Newcastle's main players, but his teammates were unable to convince him to change his position. Eddie Howe was originally planning to have face-to-face talks with Isaac, but it is not clear whether the striker will agree to return to Newcastle's training base for negotiations.
